Foul Behaviour

We are aware of ever-increasing complaints from across our area about the increasing prevalence of dog fouling. We know most owners – including GREG! – are responsible and “bag it and bin it” – but a few are not. We’ve requested warden patrols at Stephenson Rd / Benton
Rd shops, around the Bungalows, the Spinney  & St Gabriels recently.

DOREEN is arranging a community meeting locally with the Dogs Trust to encourage owners to do their bit to tackle it. We’d like Newcastle to follow other councils by purchasing a “FIDO” scooper machine which sucks up dog dirt for disposal in waste digester tanks.

However, we are disappointed that the Labour council is refusing our requests for more pavement stencils and day-glo spray paint to “highlight” the problem – this is a very low cost way of raising awareness but the “Un-Co-operative Council” won’t listen!
